Od Amsterdamu po Brighton: Evropské pride festivaly, které stojí za výlet

From Amsterdam to Brighton: European Pride festivals worth the trip

Going to Pride can be a great excuse for a long weekend, a summer vacation, or discovering a brand new city. From boat parades in Amsterdam to the sun-drenched streets of Madrid and a festival atmosphere right by the sea – the European Pride season offers much more than just the rainbow march itself.

Each city brings a different energy, different traditions, and a different vibe. Which ones will you add to your list this year?

WorldPride Amsterdam 2026

July 25 – August 8, 2026

  • Main attraction: The legendary Canal Parade (a parade of dozens of decorated boats through historical canals).

  • Why go: If you want to bet on one big pride this year, Amsterdam is the clear choice. The Dutch capital is hosting WorldPride – one of the world's most significant LGBTQIA+ events, held only once every few years. Add to that the open atmosphere, summer terraces, and people from all over the world who come here simply to be fully themselves.

Madrid Pride

June 25 – July 5, 2026

  • Main attraction: The Chueca neighborhood – a historic queer center that never sleeps.

  • Why go: Madrid consistently ranks among the largest pride festivals in the world. The city literally transforms during it – the streets fill with live music, outdoor events, and incredible energy. If you appreciate an atmosphere where pride meets you at every corner and where no one cares who you are or what you look like, Madrid is precisely the place you won't want to leave.

Christopher Street Day Berlin

July 24 – 25, 2026

  • Main attraction: A blend of underground culture, art, and activism.

  • Why go: Berlin Pride is as unique as the city itself. Besides the classic parade, you'll find a vibrant scene and artistic projects scattered across neighborhoods from Kreuzberg to Mitte. Ideal for those seeking a Pride with a deeper meaning and who appreciate that in this city, queer identity is not an exception but a natural part of everyday life.

Pride Barcelona

June 26 – July 18, 2026

  • Main attraction: A three-week marathon of events combined with beach relaxation.

  • Why go: Barcelona is one of the few destinations where Pride naturally blends with a summer vacation. The beach or city exploration by day, parades and concerts by night. A big advantage is the festival's duration – it lasts over three weeks, so you can adjust the pace to suit yourself. An ideal choice if you need to unwind and at the same time want to be around people who accept you exactly as you are.

Brighton & Hove Pride

August 1 – 2, 2026

  • Main attraction: Seaside festival atmosphere in Britain's "queer metropolis."

  • Why go: Brighton maintains its status as a tolerant city all year round. The city on England's south coast offers a friendly atmosphere and a seaside vibe that's hard to replicate. It includes open-air concerts and a rich accompanying program. Brighton simply has a charm – a feeling that you belong here. And the sea, too.

Whether you're drawn to boats in Amsterdam's canals, Madrid's night streets, Berlin's underground, Barcelona's beach, or Brighton's promenade – each of these places offers something you won't experience at home. A space to be yourself and memories worth the endless waiting at the airport.
