Pridy v CZ a SK: Kam letos za duhou? Přehled pride akcí v Česku a na Slovensku

Prides in CZ and SK: Where to go for a rainbow this year? Overview of pride events in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

The sun is shining, festival season is in full swing, and with it comes the period of Pride events. Whether you're going for music, new encounters, queer culture, or just want to enjoy a chill day among people where you can be 100% yourself, you definitely have plenty to choose from.

Marches, debates, concerts, and community picnics are being planned in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Each Pride has a slightly different energy, but the goal is the same – to create a safe space and show that love is love.

Prague Pride

August 3 – 9, 2026

The largest queer event in the Czech Republic will kick off its program in the first week of August, and the traditional parade will pass through Prague on Saturday, August 8. This year's edition brings a huge historical change – after 13 years, Pride Park is leaving Letenská pláň and moving to Štvanice Island (to the area behind the tennis courts around the HolKa footbridge). Goodbye to the dust, heat, and endless stairs of Letná; instead, you can look forward to grass, trees, shade by the river, and perfect summer vibes. Throughout the week, dozens of discussions, workshops, and parties await you in Prague.

Pilsen Pride

September 8-14, 2026

Pilsen will delight those who enjoy festival happenings at a more intimate pace. Forget endless crowds, there's no rush here. Pilsen Pride has long focused on queer culture in all its forms – from author readings and film screenings to legendary drag shows. The festival prides itself on creating a safe space in the region where everyone can feel safe and be themselves. A special feature of Pilsen is that it takes place in September. The reason is practical – most of the organizing team consists of students who are finishing exams, state exams, or graduation at the beginning of summer and are out of town during the holidays. Early September is therefore an ideal time for everyone to return, and you can experience a great end to the festival season in a friendly circle.

Ostrava PRAJD

???

Ostrava is clear proof that a strong queer community certainly doesn't only live in the capital, although this year the local organizers face a slightly different year. Most likely, the traditional city parade, which we have been used to since 2019, will not take place this summer. The organizing and activist team currently needs to prioritize their own capacities and focus on an internal reset so they can continue at full throttle in the coming years – by the way, they are open and would gladly welcome new faces among them. The fact that there will be no classic parade in August certainly doesn't mean we will be less queer in Ostrava. The local community stands firmly together, and you can rely on its solidarity throughout the year.

Most Pride

August 22, 2026

Most Pride is one of the youngest Pride events in the Czech Republic, and perhaps that's why it radiates so much pure energy. Each year is a reminder that being queer is okay even in smaller towns. After the parade, you can stop by the stalls of local organizations, enjoy an energetic drag show, or just soak in the atmosphere of a day created mainly by the enthusiasm of local people. And honestly? Most Pride is great!

Dúhový PRIDE Bratislava

July 18, 2026

If you want to travel abroad this year but don't want to deal with plane tickets or long journeys, Bratislava is a safe bet. The oldest Slovak Pride will once again transform the city center into a place full of colors, energy, and queer joy. In addition to the parade itself, the program usually includes live music, community events, discussions, and evening gatherings. Bratislava also has a big advantage – you can get there from the Czech Republic in just a few hours, but the atmosphere often feels like a completely different world. If you like combining Pride with discovering new places, the Slovak capital is an ideal tip for a summer weekend getaway.

Dúhový PRIDE Košice

August 22, 2026

Košice is further proof that great things can be created in every corner of the country. For several years, the local Pride has brought colors, culture, and stories of people who help create a more open environment for everyone to the city streets. If you are tempted to discover places off the usual tourist routes and experience a festival at a slightly different rhythm, Košice might be exactly for you. You can expect a pleasant atmosphere, an interesting program, and days that show that queer life pulses far beyond the borders of major cities.

PRIDE Banská Bystrica

June 27, 2026

While some Pride festivals attract with large stages and a packed program from morning till night, Banská Bystrica reminds us that queer joy can also have a much calmer pace. The local festival naturally connects culture, sharing stories, and simply a space to be. Without the pressure to accomplish something, without the feeling that you're missing half the program. If you want to enjoy Pride your way and treat yourself to a day full of comfort, you'll find it right here. Sometimes, little is enough – a safe space, the open arms of the community, and the opportunity to switch off the outside world for a while.

Where will you go this year?

Whether you choose the huge festival in Prague, queer culture in Pilsen, community-focused Ostrava, energetic Most, or one of the Slovak Prides, we wish you a summer full of joy, inspiration, and moments you'll remember for a long time. Because that's what Pride is all about – a safe environment, support, sharing, and the ability to be yourselves.
